Smoothside Julian Simmons


Julian Simmons After taking a 1st. class degree in Popular Music Studies at Leeds University, specializing in production, Julian worked for film director Tony Kaye (American History X) in his Soho studio, mastering pro-tools while also playing in two bands, Jack and A Man Called Adam, both on the London circuit and on extensive National and European tours.

He set up Din Studios in 2003 and since then he has recorded and produced many acts, most of whose records he has also played on. His many years of experience as a musician and his broad understanding of the technical side of production gained from extensive recording has given him the ability to achieve great performances from the artistes he is producing.

Recent and Current Projects:
Producing racks for Mercury Music Prize nominees, Guillemots, critically well received albums for The High Wire - 'Hit a Low' and Anthony Johnson - 'British Ballads' the debut album for Mama's Gun -Roots to Riches' and current singles for Rosie Oddie and Rod Thomas
