Recently joining the Smoothside roster, Sam is a a talented engineer/
programmer who has seemlessly progressed from a Sound Engineering
student to Chief Engineer at Jacobs in five short years. During this
time he worked on diverse projects - from recording punk bands to
orchestras - and is equally at home engineering or programming.
At Jacobs he had the opportunity to work with and engineer for some
of England's most creative and innovative young producers, among them
Jacknife Lee for whom he engineered on Vaux and Paul Epworth on The
Rakes current album Capture/Release and The Bloc Party single Two
More Years.
Recent and current projects:
Sam has continued his working relationship with Jacknife Lee working
as engineer/programmer on albums by Snow Patrol - Eyes Open, Bloc
Party - A Weekend In The City, Michael Stipe's vocals on R.E.M.'s -
Accelerate, Editors - An End has A Start and tracks for Hadouken!,
The Hives and the single Flux for Bloc Party. In his own right he
has produced the second album for Indi Rock band Transition, and mixed
tracks for Walter Meego, included on the album 'Voyage'.
Sam is programming and recording a new album for Bloc Party.
